Paragon

When the company started out in 1897 it used the name “Star China”. It only began using “Paragon” as a trade name around 1903. Known initially for its tea and breakfast fine bone china it expanded in the 1930’s into a full range of dinnerware. During this same period they also greatly expanded their export markets.

Because of the fine quality of its bone china dinnerware Paragon earned royal warrants of appointments from Queen Mary, the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth.

In the 1960’s Paragon was purchased by Royal Albert who continued to produce some its more popular patterns until 1992.

Despite their demise, Paragon has maintained its reputation for having produced fine crafted elegant china. Their bone china dinnerware continues to grace dining tables in homes around the world.
